As an attorney in private practice in Atlanta, Charles Pyke provides a wide range of estate planning services to his clients, with a primary focus on helping them provide for the security of their loved ones, reduce the estate taxes and avoid or at least minimize the costs and delays of probate, all with a well-crafted estate plan. Mr. Pyke defines the mission statement for Pyke & Associates, P.C. as “Helping people be good stewards of all that has been entrusted to them.” Mr. Pyke, an active member of his community, is well aware of the growing importance of estate planning, and dedicates himself to informing the public of the need for careful attention to their specific situations. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of estate planning topics, regularly presenting educational seminars for the public as well as private groups.

Experience

Before Mr. Pyke formed Pyke & Associates, P.C., he spent five years as an associate at the Atlanta law firm of Gambrell & Stolz, where his practice areas included general corporate law, commercial real estate, and estate planning. He also has extensive work experience with the legal departments of various state and federal governmental agencies ranging from the Georgia Secretary of State to the United States Bankruptcy Court, Federal Home Loan Bank, and Federal Trade Commission. He is an accredited attorney of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Mr. Pyke is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. Mr. Pyke serves on the Education Advisory Board and has achieved the distinction as an Estate Planning Fellow with the AAEPA. Mr. Pyke is the author of The Complete Guide to Estate and Legacy Planning: A Roadmap to Protecting Your Family, Wealthy and Legacy, and is co-author of two books, A Will Is Not Enough In Georgia and Estate Planning Basics: 38 Commonly Asked Questions About Estate Planning.

Education

Mr. Pyke, a native Atlantan, graduated from Woodward Academy, a college preparatory school in College Park, then obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance at Auburn University. He went on to earn his Doctor of Law degree from the Emory University School of Law, where he was an active leader in a number of campus activities.

Personal

Mr. Pyke, who is married and the father of two, devotes much of his free time to serving the community. He is on the board of directors at the Emmanuel School of Religion. He grew up in the church at Southwest Christian Church and currently attends First Baptist Church of McDonough. When he can find the time, Mr. Pyke enjoys horseback riding and hunting.
